Studio 245 worked with Jim Wilson to create a Graphics and Illustration Lab for 2nd Year Graphics and Illustration students at the University of Brighton.

The GI Lab is a multifunctional, movable work station designed to maximise space. The GI Lab can be used as both a meeting/office space when closed or a work station when open. With retractable inbuilt elements, the students will be able to work both individually and collaboratively and experiment with mediums not previously available.

Studio 245 trialled the GI Lab at the 2016 Design Research Society's 50th Anniversary Conference, held at the University of Brighton in July. We set up a screen printing workshop for the duration of the conference that both delegates and visitors could experiment with. The theme of the conference was future-focused-thinking and with that in mind, each print aimed to visualise a thought, emotion or aspiration that design and the theory of it could potentially manifest. We displayed each print with the hope to invoke discussion and debate between the delegates, the public and the organisers of the conference.
