UNESCO Biosphere

Graphic Design students from the University of Brighton have been working with Brighton & Hove Council to develop a new name and identity for the recently formed Brighton & Lewis Downs Biosphere region.

There are about 120 UNESCO sites world wide, and this one specifically challenges people to think how they could live more sustainably in the future.

The student who developed the new identity was selected from a workshop and through a placement at leading design agency JDO, the new visual identity was cultivated.

The new identity will be delivered late 2016 / 2017 and was developed in conjunction with the Sustainable Development Working Group, that contains organisations as diverse as Fabrica, the Onca Gallery and local utility providers and producers.
